Stay Fair! (Fisk)

Winners of 95 games during the regular season, the home team in this 6th game of the World Series was still the undeniable underdog, competing against the Big Red Machine, winners of 108. But in this game, the home team would not disappoint. At 12:34 AM in the bottom of this 12 inning thriller, Boston’s Hall of Fame catcher strode to the plate and connected for a home run that barely stayed fair, bouncing off the bright yellow foul pole in left field. The memory is forever etched in the minds of baseball fans everywhere. After hitting the ball, arms stretched to the sky, he waved and waved and waved and waved the ball fair. And fair it was. Sox win! Sox win! Playmaker: Mark G.
