Trip and Score (Bergeron)

In their quest for a 6th Stanley Cup, the away team defeated the Western Conference champion 4 games to 3, and with the win ended a 39-year Stanley Cup drought. They came back from a 0-2 series deficit, making the series win all the more impressive. Their longtime leader and first line center would seal the game at 2:26 left in the second period on a short-handed breakaway shot between two defenders, sliding into the goal. The captain’s goal would put the team up 3-0 on their way to the 4-0 game 7 shutout, starting the celebrations on the team’s bench, and back in New England. Playmaker: Paul D.
