Commons in the Top Corner

In the semi-final of the 2015 Scottish Premiership, rivals Celtic and Rangers matched up to see which of the two most historied clubs in Scotland would make it to the final. Their rivalry dates back over 100 years and the two clubs have faced each other over 400 times, so this match was like any other Old Firm Derby, important!

Celtic scored 10 minutes into the game to make it 1-0, but it wasn’t nearly as pretty as Kris Commons’ strike in the 30th minute. After a strong challenge from the Rangers defence resulted in a loose ball, Commons gained possession by taking a perfect first touch with his right foot to set up his strike. From outside of the box, he launched a screaming shot with his left foot through a sea of Rangers and into the top left corner of the goal! It was a crushing defeat for Rangers and the Old Firm crown (for this time) given to Celtic!
