Hail Mary (Staubach, 1975)

The away team started the game-winning drive with the ball on their own 15-yard line, trailing 14–10 with 1:50 left in the game. A spectacular catch on fourth and 17 brought them to midfield. With 32 seconds remaining, the Hall of Fame quarterback received the snap, and tossed the ball all the way down towards the goal line. His receiver caught it and ran into the endzone. Although this wasn’t the final play of the game, the away team went on to win 17-14. In a post-game interview, the soft-spoken quarterback said he threw it up, and prayed a Hail Mary.
