Touch ‘Em All (Toronto, Carter)

The team had won the World Series the year before. This season they were on a mission to prove that the first time was no fluke. In Game 6, down 6-5 at home with two men on in the bottom of the ninth inning, the team’s feared slugger stepped up to the plate. The batter took the count to 2-2 and on the 5th pitch he crushed a fastball down the left field line for only the second World Series-clinching home run in history. The five time all-star skipped around the bases, celebrating and overjoyed, yet focused on touching every base, particularly the base his team surrounded as they greeted him at home plate. He belted 396 homers in a stellar career, but none bigger than this one. Playmaker: Pete C.
